Our company provides various services to help maintain your fire protection equipment. For each client, we work to create an annual or monthly inspection schedule for their location. These inspections are required under the Ontario Fire Code to maintain the working condition of all fire protection equipment. This equipment includes fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and sprinkler systems. Our company works to create a specialized inspection depending on what fire protection equipment is located at your facility. Fire Extinguisher Inspections
By inspecting your fire extinguishers regularly, you are maintaining the right pressure within the cylinder to help you extinguish a small fire. Please remember you should never fight a fire that’s larger than yourself. Always call the fire department in the event of a large fire!
Emergency Lighting Inspections
Maintaining emergency lighting may not seem like a big deal, but in the event of an emergency, you want to be able to find your way to the closest possible exit. By having proper emergency lighting and exit sign lighting, you are providing the best chances for an escape during an emergency.
Sprinkler System Inspections
Sprinkler systems are not present in all buildings. Please make sure to consult with one of our service technicians to see if your building requires sprinkler testing. For buildings that do have sprinkler systems, it is imperative to have all sprinkler devices tested on a monthly basis. This preventive maintenance will keep your sprinkler system working and catch any issues that could cause problems with your system in the future.
Fire Alarm Testing
Fire alarm systems are not present in all buildings, and in some cases they are tied into a security or monitoring system. Fire alarm testing is mandatory once per year under the Ontario Fire Code. Testing these systems not only maintains the safety of your equipment, but it also allows our service technicians to see if any deficiencies have been found. By maintaining a working fire alarm panel, you are maintaining the integrity of all fire alarm devices.
Fire Hydrant Winterization
Once per year we work with various companies to release and pump the water out of fire hydrants before winter. This is called the “winterization” of fire hydrants. In addition to draining the water, we perform an inspection of the inside of the hydrant to see if there is any damage to the barrel or barrel flange.
Semi-Annual Kitchen System Inspections
Kitchen system inspections should be conducted twice per year. These systems are to be maintained under the Ontario Fire Code to ensure that your kitchen system will work in the event of a grease fire. There is a special system that is designed to drop a dry chemical over the stove in the event of a large grease fire. This system is triggered through a manual pull station, so it is imperative to maintain this system. By maintaining this system, you are keeping both your kitchen staff and your building safe in the event of a fire.
Fire Safety Plans
This is a specialized service we offer upon request. We will only provide you with a fire safety plan If you require one. These plans are completed before a building gains occupancy, and these plans are quoted based upon the size and location of your building. If you are unsure whether you need one, or if you need to update your current plan, please contact us today!
